Green Is Gone!

How do you like the three-column blog look! Thank you, Jennifer! The link you took me to was very good.

I played with this all yesterday morning! Whew!

The Cutest Blog on the Block (link is on upper left hand corner) has some wonderful templates, but either my computer screen is so small (I didn't think it was that small) or their three-column templates are just too large???? Not sure, but on my screen the little red flowers are only 1/2 a flower, but it looks okay for now.

What does it look like on your screen? You help is much appreciated!

Wow! Green is Gone is an understatement!! I'm glad the links helped. It looks great on my screen (it's a big one though - 20" widescreen.) Good job!

After I gave you those links I started looking at my blog with a more critical eye. I've been playing with a header all afternoon. I think I'll be done with it by tomorrow.

Oh, and if you wanted to put a picture in your header, 660x180 is a good size. You may have to tweak it a little to get it perfect, but that's a good starting point.

Thank, Jennifer, I'll try the 660x180 size! I might pick a different picture now, though, because the other pic had a lot of green!!!

Good luck with fiddling with your blog. I'm so not good at fiddling with the settings, but that site that you gave me was really good! It was simple by using their directions.

It's probably your screen resolution, not the screen size that causes the flowers to cut off. I can see all of your flowers AND brown and tan polka dot background. :)

Thanks, Leah, I now know that someone out there can see the whole thing!!

Maybe, I'll play with my screen resolution!

Um, okay, since I'm on dial-up, I couldn't figure out what you meant by green being gone as I get a green page before the tan one loads over it. And red flowers??? I don't see any.

Your blog is now wider than my screen but I have an older monitor--when flat screens were very new and very expensive. Mine's not flat. It's an mx70.

I like the picture. Everything you have done so far looks great to me.

Ehart, when I change my resolution (thanks Leah), I can see the whole thing, but before that I can't.

The only problem with changing my resolution is that I'm old and it makes the print too small!

Oh, and ehart, the underlying template 'Minima' has a green background....then I fiddled with the HTML (with instructions from Jennifer's link) to get it to be three columns, then added HTML to get the beige background with flowers on the borders. So, the green loads first.

You can also tell the computer you want a larger font in a bigger screen resolution.

Oddly enough, for a while I had a pretty small resolution and made sure I clicked the extra large font. I think I was doing myself a disservice, because my eyesight steadily got worse. So I flipped it all around, got a smaller resolution and font set up. I don't know if it's helped with my eyes, but I finally stopped slouching so much! :)

Laurie, you can change that green. Under the layout tab, click fonts and colors. I believe it's the first one.

Okay, Jennifer, once again you've saved me a lot of aggravation! Thank you so much! I've changed the background color so ehart shouldn't see the green anymore!

I didn't see the green but I also still don't see the flowers, just the tan background.

Looks good though.

Actually, instead of green, it just stays white most of the time. The tan is the last to load.

Ehart, the white is the color that I changed the background template color to, so it makes sense that it would be there first, then the tan loads.

Gee, I hope my new design didn't slow your computer down too much when viewing my blog!

No, I can read the blogs while I wait for the tan to load. The rest loads pretty quickly. It's usually all loaded by the time I'm ready to comment anyway.
