We always joke in my part of the country that we go from winter to summer. Yes, we have a spring, but it is rather sporadic.
I woke up one morning and the outside thermometer read 30 degrees. Later in the day it was over 90 degrees. Talk about a huge temperature change.
Yes, yesterday we were in a heat wave (I'm not complaining), but who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Work is the zoo that I call it. It never changes. My mother loves to ask me 'How was work today?' I ALWAYS answer, 'It was a zoo!' She laughs, then we usually talk about the weather!
Saturday, hubby's sister and her family stopped by to visit. They live quite a distance from us, but they were visiting the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge. If you'd like to see the pictures that I took at Montezuma, please click here. They decided to come visit and take us out to dinner. Ooops! We had just eaten the church's chicken bbq dinner right before they called. So we told them to come on over, we'd go with them and visit. It was nice to actually get to talk to them. Most times the family gets together it's quite hectic. Hubby is one of 10 children, so when the family gets together, it's a huge get together.
The rest of the weekend was quiet. Hubby has the lawn all seeded for the spring rains, but we haven't seen too many raindrops recently, so he watered the front on Saturday. Our lawn has a tendency to get quite thin and scraggly looking after the winter snows melt. So, we've been mostly sitting around watching the grass grow. Nothing much, but I like it that way.
