Syracuse Wins in 6 OT Periods!

Okay, I have to mostly agree with ehart's statement that basketball games should be played by setting the clock to the last few minutes and letting the teams have at it.

Well, last night, I sat down with DH to watch the Syracuse Quarterfinals Big East Tournament. Syracuse has struggled this year, but they are a young team and I have seen a lot of potential in them. They were playing Connecticut, which is ranked #4 in the nation. Syracuse is currently ranked 20th. I really thought they would get beat.

I usually don't sit down and watch the games, as I often think the same way ehart does, I usually holler out from the kitchen, bedroom, or where ever I may be, "Honey, what's the score?" That's how I watch college basketball most of the time.

But last night, I was tired and decided to actually sit and watch the game.

After the first OT, hubby went to bed. He said, "It'll take them a half hour to play that 5-minute overtime period." Totally unlike me to say, "I'm staying up and watching it." But that's what I said.

Finally after I looked at the clock and Syracuse was getting ready to play their 4th OT period, I gave up and thought that I'd just catch it on the morning news. I went to bed, I wasn't there very long, when the phone rang. What? It was after 1:00 a.m., but my son knows that his dad is a huge Syracuse fan. He figured that Dh would be up watching the game.

Bryce screams into the phone, "Is Dad up still?" I said, "Did they win? We've gone to bed."

He felt terrible knowing we'd gone to bed, but he sputtered, "No, I'll let you go, but they're getting ready to go into the 6th OT!"

Well, back to the TV, I turned it on and watched Syracuse whup those Huskies by 10 points.

What a game! What a game!

Anyway, I'm tired! Everyone else at work will be too. There are a lot of fans there for Syracuse University basketball.

What a game!

My only question is 'What will they have left to play West Virginia tonight?'

Hmmmm, if last night was any indication, maybe a whole lot more than most expect!

Go Syracuse Orange! Juice 'em!
