Veterans Day

Please give one of your dear Veterans a hug today! I did! My hubby!

I had today off, so I spent some time knitting on an old project of a sweater that I started years ago. It's a real pretty design and it's not one that goes out of style, so it was a relaxing day.

I love to knit. I love to crochet. In fact, I have a knitting machine, but I also knit by hand. The only problem with knitting by hand is that it takes FOREVER! I mean, I started another sweater over a year ago and I'm still working on it. It's probably 2/3 done and I should probably hurry up and finish it already, but I get bored with it real fast.

The one I picked up today is done on large needles and with large woolen yarn. It goes very quickly.

I always pick fashions to knit that never go out of style, because who knows, it may take me 3 years to finish a project, so it has to be serviceable and all time favorites, not something that fad dictates.

One of these days, I'm going to dig out my digital and snap a few pictures of the recent projects that I've crocheted. I like crocheting a bit more than knitting, because it moves along a lot quicker.

Today, Bryce called from college to inform me that his cyst burst. Praise the Lord! I was really worried about this thing and now I'm thinking it's going to start to heal. He had relief in his voice. He said he had talked to another kid who had had one in the past and they had to surgically remove it. I don't think he's going to have to deal with that. Thank the Lord! He's on an antibiotic and I'm hoping that he's on the mend.

So, no work today, but tomorrow is back to the old grind.

Hubby and I have a great game of euchre awaiting us. I really need to win this time. He's beaten me the last two times we've played.

So, basically, life is quiet on the home front, which makes me very grateful.

Love to see some pictures of your creations. I do not have the patience to knit, I wish I did because I think the stiches are so pretty. But I crochet, I think because it goes rather quickly and I can get the whoo hoo that comes from making something myself.

I plan on posting some pics soon of my handiwork. I like crocheting for the very same reason. I have made quite a few gifts recently, but unfortunately, I gave them to the recipient before snapping a picture of them. LOL!

I have 2 crocheted shell tops that I made recently. They will probably be the ones that I post. I've had many compliments on them, but one of them, I'm going to be doing some touch ups on. I'm thinking of redesigning it a bit.
