When You Can Smile About It....

Since yesterday's post was titled "When You Can Laugh About It..." and I poked some fun at my hubby, I thought it would be nice to show you what a wonderfully handy guy he is.

I had a hunkering for wanting a shelf to put my toaster, spice rack, bread machine, and many other little items onto - for storage.

Hubby had some old rough-cut lumber in the garage (alongside all those computer parts and broken down appliances that he tears apart).

He made this handy little shelf to fit right along the wall between my stove and counter.

The thrifty part about this cute little shelf is that it cost practically nothing!  I bought some contact paper at the Dollar Store and tacked it onto the shelving.  I didn't want to bother painting it.  The contact paper cost only $2.00.

So for a very minimal amount of money, I have this cute little shelf.

And it makes me smile every time I look at it!

How adorable! I'll remember that idea for if/when we get a place where I have room to actually have a shelf. :) Thanks!
